TROUBLING: REP. RON PAUL LEADS POLL IN IOWA DESPITE APPEASEMENT APPROACH TOWARDS IRAN: Will GOP voters follow this disastrous approach?

Will GOP voters back appeasement towards Iran?

The latest poll out of Iowa shows Texas Congressman Ron Paul in the lead. This is troubling at many levels. Rep. Paul deserves credit for advocating sound money, a serious review of the Fed, and dramatically reduced federal spending. But as I’ve written before [and recently updated], Paul would be a terrible Commander-in-Chief and gets an “F” when it comes his Iran policy. Paul doesn’t understand the nuclear threat posed by the radical regime in Iran. He doesn’t understand the supremacy of martyrdom in the Iranian leadership’s value system. He doesn’t understand the genocidal, apocalyptic nature of Shia End Times theology. In fact, Paul takes an appeasement approach towards Iran. What’s more, he would severely slash military funding, zero out U.S. support for Israel, and take us into an isolationist foreign policy, even as the threat from Radical Islam worsens. Will GOP voters follow this disastrous approach? I pray not.

Consider this illuminating exchange between Fox News anchor Bret Baier and Rep. Paul where Paul happily concedes that if he were to win the GOP nomination, he would be “to the left of President Obama” on the Iran issue.
