(Washington, D.C.) — It’s great to be back in the U.S., preparing for next week’s launch of Without Warning. On Saturday, I landed at Washington Dulles fresh from Israel and am working my way through jetlag and eager to get started.
The novel — which focuses on an ISIS plot to launch a series of catastrophic terrorist attacks inside the American homeland — is the third and final installment in the trilogy that began with The Third Target and The First Hostage, and it may be fastest moving of the series.
People are asking me if they need to have read the first two novels to understand Without Warning. The answer is no, not necessarily. I’ve written this one to work as a stand alone for readers who are finding my work for the first time. That said, I do think you’ll enjoy it more if you pick up the paperbacks of the first two and read them first, or listen on audio.
A few exciting developments worth noting:
- Next week as the novel releases, we also plan to release the results of an exclusive national poll we’ve commissioned.
- The survey examines how Americans view the threat of the Islamic State, and how the American people view the war against ISIS. I think you’ll find it very interesting.
- This week, I’m meeting with Members of Congress and various Mideast experts to brief them on the poll results prior to releasing the numbers publicly.
- During the book tour, we’ll also release various fact sheets about the ISIS threat, the threat of the Islamic State, and the threat of Radical Islam.
Also, we’ve just posted two new videos in which I talk about the process of writing this series — I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch them and feel free to share them.
