“Author Joel Rosenberg has a knack for writing fiction that is chillingly close to reality, and he’s done it again in Damascus Countdown, the third and final installment of his Twelfth Imam series,” reports CBN News. “Rosenberg’s novels are entertaining, but he also has a track record of being quite prophetic in his fiction.”

“In Damascus Countdown, Israel has successfully launched a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads,” CBN notes. “The result prompts the Twelfth Imam to order a full-scale retaliation. The fictional U.S. President William Jackson threatens to support a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish state for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression. How close is this fictional account to a real-world scenario? Rosenberg was on ‘The 700 Club,’ Thursday, March 7, to talk about his latest book and just how possible it is that things can play out in similar fashion in reality.”

It was an interesting conversation — running about 12 minutes — and we covered a lot of ground. Here are some of the issues we discussed:

  • Why is the Tel Aviv-to-Tehran corridor the most dangerous corridor on the planet right now?
  • How has the Obama administration’s tone on Iran changed significantly in the last 96 hours? [I wrote about this on the blog the other day, but discussed it further on CBN]
  • Is President Obama going to Israel in a few weeks to “re-set” U.S.-Israel relations in a more positive way, or to apply new pressure on Israel to make unwise and potentially dangerous decisions?
  • How close is Iran to the “red-line” on nuclear weapons and how much longer can Israel wait before making the kind of preemptive strike on Iran as described in Damascus Countdown?
  • What does Bible prophecy say about the future of Iran?
  • What does Bible prophecy say about the future of Damascus?
  • Why are so many Iranian Muslims leaving Shia Islam and becoming followers of Jesus Christ?
